DebT2Deb Thomas, Reporter/Editor

A writer since the age of 9, Deb has milked cows, mended lobster pots and worked as a photo journalist, painter and musician. After high school, she hiked extensively through the northern New England states, and section-hiked nearly all of the Appalachian Trail. After UCONN’s School of Education, Deb worked as a specialty construction underwriter until retiring to the Hidden Lake District of Higganum to raise twins. A lifelong advocate for small farms and farmland preservation, she’s worked as a writer for ConnLife, The Hometown Journal, New England Natural, and the Haddam Bulletin. Coming off four years as Chairwoman of the Higganum Village Farmers’ Market, and one of its original founders, she’s currently working on her third book. When not reading, writing or spilling paint in her garage, she is most likely working with her music partner.
