State Rep. Robert Siegrist Reads to Local School Children

HADDAM State Representative Robert Siegrist (R-36) read She Persisted: 13 American Women Who Changed the World by Chelsea Clinton to 4th graders at Haddam Elementary School in Haddam on Monday, March 12, 2018t to commemorate Read Across America and Women’s History Month, which are both observed the month of March.

State Rep. Robert Siegrist, Brienne Whidden, HES Principal; Christopher Snow, HES 4th grade teacher; and Kim Gray, HES 4th grade teacher.

“Becoming a skilled reader is essential to success in life as an adult,” said Rep. Siegrist. “I really had a great time reading to students and I’m grateful for the visit. I applaud the teachers and administrators for their dedication and wish all of the students much success as they pursue their education.”

Read Across America is an annual event held on Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel’s birthday, March 2nd, to commemorate his life’s work and his ability to captivate young audiences with his unique children’s books.
