HVFCo: Motor Vehicle in Creek

On March 12, Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to a motor vehicle accident at 8:35 p.m. on Thayer Road. A driver lost control of his vehicle, slid off the road and plummeted into a creek that feeds into Bible Rock Brook. Upon arrival, the driver was trapped in the vehicle near a concrete headwall. Two firefighters helped lift the driver out of his car and onto Thayer Road. The driver was evaluated on scene by EMS personnel and transported to Middlesex Hospital with minor injuries. HVFC closed a short section of Thayer Road during the incident. After the vehicle was towed out of the creek, firefighters checked for any leaking fluids near the water and found none.
