HVFCo: Motor Vehicle Accident on Walkley Hill

By Olivia Drake, HVFCo Public Information Officer.

Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to a motor vehicle accident at 1:45 p.m. Feb. 5, 2017 on Walkley Hill Road near Parmelee Road. There, a driver lost control of her vehicle, struck a guardrail and slid into Krieger’s Brook near the road’s edge. Firefighters, with assistance from Connecticut State Police troopers, helped the driver to extricate through the driver’s door and lifted her over the running water. The driver was evaluated by Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service and refused additional treatment. Firefighters checked the vehicle for any leaking fluids, but found none. The vehicle was later towed out of the brook.
