Swing Bridge Rehab Postponed

In October 2017, the CT DOT held an informational meeting about a proposed project to rehabilitate the Haddam-East Haddam Swing Bridge. The project was anticipated to begin in fall 2019 and be completed in fall 2021, however this project has been put on hold indefinitely because of the state budget issues.

Governor Dannel Malloy announced on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 that, “A total of $4.3 billion in transportation projects across the state, including work on Interstate 95 in southeastern Connecticut, are ‘postponed indefinitely until new revenue is appropriated for the Special Transportation Fund,'” according to this The Day article.
