Haddam Social Services: December 2017 Monthly Report

The spirit of the season was in full swing here at Haddam Social Services for December. We received so many generous donations: toys, clothes, monetary, and food. They came in and went out daily. I would like to thank everyone in our community for all they have done to help make the Holiday Season special for all those in need. A special thank you to:

  • Higganum and Tylerville Markets
  • Riverhouse,
  • Town & Country Nursery
  • Liberty Bank – Tylerville Branch
  • All of our amazing churches and civic organizations
  • Old Cart Road Neighborhood
  • Private donors
  • Haddam Boy Scout troop #44/Cub Scout troop #40
  • Haddam Girl Scouts troop 62804

We also had a special fuel donation in memory of Aaron Conrad and a donation to Haddam Social Services in memory of Nancy Guardino Safer.

In December, the Haddam Food Bank

  • serviced 22 adults, and 15 children
  • provided 50 Christmas baskets (6 donated from Higganum United Methodist Church, 24 delivered and made by Haddam Lions Club, and 20 made by Haddam Food Bank)

In December, the Haddam Fuel Bank serviced a total of 6 families (1 electric, 4 oil, and 1 wood).

In December, the Clothing Bank serviced 8 adults and 10 children. A total of 36 hats, gloves and scarves went out as well.

High Meadow received a total of 24 Emergency Kits to start off the New Year.

Nine families received toys for Christmas from Haddam Social Services.
