Boys Swim 2017-18: HKHS vs. Classical Magnet School

Haddam Killingworth High School Boys swim team swam against Classical Magnet on Monday, January 29, 2018 at home. The Cougars won 95 to 68.

The first event, 200 Yard Medley Relay, the HK team of Jake Torello, Max Revis, Michael Morman, and Christopher Garrelts came in first with a time of 1:53.78.

The second event, 200 Yard Freestyle, HK’s swimmers came in first, third and fourth: First place with a time of 2:02.40 was Michael Morman, third place was Jonah Freeman with a time of 2:10.13, and fourth place was Simon Brown with a time of 2:22.96.

The third event, 200 Yard Individual Medley, HK’s swimmers came in first and second: Eli Houlton came in first with a time of 2:19.13, Max Revis came in second with a time of 2:22.44.

In the fourth event, the 50-yard Freestyle, HK came in first, second and fourth. Kyle Mazziotti came in first for H-K with a time of 23.91, Zach Houlton finished second with a time of 24.01, and James Clemente came in fourth with a time of 28.02.

The fifth event was diving, which we no longer have at HKHS.

The sixth event, 100-Yard Butterfly, HK came in first and second. HK’s Eli Houlton came in first with a time of 1:05.87. James Clemente took second with a time of 1:07.84.

In the seventh event, 100-Yard Freestyle, Kyle Mazziotti came in first with a time of 52.92, Christopher Garrelts came in second with a time of 53.90, and Jonah Freeman took fourth with a time of 59.00.

In the eighth event, 500-yard Freestyle, HK took first and fourth: Zach Houlton came in first with a time of 5:02.56, and Nate Carlson took fourth place with a time of 6:22.15.

In the ninth event, 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, H-K’s teams took the top two spots. The team of Michael Morman, Eli Houlton, Zach Houlton, and Kyle Mazziotti came in first with a time of 1:39.46, and the team of James Clemente, Simon Brown, Jonah Freeman, and Nate Carlson came in second with a time of 1:52.46.

Event 10 – 100-yard Backstroke – H-K students took first, second, and fourth place: Jake Torello took first with a time of 1:00.15, Michael Morman took second with a time of 1:03.09, and Simon Brown took fourth with a time of 1:19.64.

In the eleventh event, 100-Yard Breaststroke, because H-K had already won the meet, their times were considered Exhibition: Max Revis had a time of 1:09.15, Christopher Garrelts had a time of 1:23.87, and Etienne Huebner had a time of 1:35.58.

Event 12 – 400-yard Freestyle Relay – was also considered an Exhibition for H-K. H-K’s team of Eli Houlton, Jake Torello, Zach Houlton, and Kyle Mazziotti came in with a time of 3:49.20. H-K’s team of Jonah Freeman, Nate Carlson, Etienne Huebner, and Christopher Garrelts finished with a time of 4:31.82.
