Energy Assistance 2017-18

THE 2017-2018 ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM IS UNDERWAY:  APPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED FROM AUGUST 1, 2017 THROUGH MAY 1, 2018; UNLESS THE HOUSEHOLD IS UTILITY HEATED AND THERE IS A SHUT OFF NOTICE, THEN THE LAST DAY TO APPLY IS MAY 15, 2017.

THE FIRST DAY DELIVERABLE FUELS CAN BE DELIVERED IS NOVEMBER 15, 2017.  THE DEADLINE FOR FUEL AUTHORIZATIONS IS MARCH 15, 2018.  THESE APPLICATIONS ARE ALSO USED TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY FOR WEATHERIZATION.

Connecticut’s Energy Assistance Program helps offset winter heating  costs to lower income households, specifically those household’s whose income falls below 60% of the state median.  Connecticut’s Department of Social Services and Community Action Agencies administer the program in Connecticut.  The program is funded by the US Department of Health and Human Services.  Below are the income guidelines for 2017-2018

Household of 1:   maximum income eligibility: 34,366.00

Household of 2:  maximum income eligibility: 44, 941.00

Household of 3:  maximum income eligibility: 55,515.00

Household of 4: maximum income eligibility:  66,089.00

Household of 5: maximum income eligibility: 76,663.00

Household of 6: maximum income eligibility: 87,237.00

Household of 7: maximum income eligibility: 89,220.00
