June Enrichment Opportunities

Tai Chi: Often referred to as “The Gift of Balance.” An important three-year study by the National Institute of Health found that people aged 70 to 90, who learned and practiced this ancient art reduced injury from falling by 47.5%. The slow, graceful, circular motions help to improve balance, loosen joints, tone muscles, and relieve stress, while creating an overall sense of well-being. Call Robert Michael at 860-301-6433 or email [email protected] for information. Summer schedule:

  • Tai Chi for Seniors: Tuesdays, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Tai Chi Modified: Wednesdays, 11:00-11:45 a.m.
  • Tai Chi for Adults: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Mindful Meditation: Present mindfulness and meditation is a technique utilized by millions to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, ultimately increasing self-awareness. Suzanne will create a relaxing atmosphere with dim lighting and essential oils to achieve a better state of relaxation and awareness to your surroundings. Feel free to bring a yoga mat, blanket or pillow to make yourself most comfortable. Chairs will be available as a modification. Summer schedule (adults/seniors): Fridays, 9:30-10:00 a.m. (recommended supplies: yoga mat or blanket, pillow, and a willingness to let go)
