Baseball 2017: State Championships Round 1

The Haddam Killingworth High School varsity baseball team defeated Brookfield at HK in the first round of the State championship on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 with a final score of HK 5, Brookfield 4. Owen Marica had four hits, and Tyler Popp had three for HK. Dave Albanese put Brookfield up in the fourth with a three run homer. Popp tied the game in the bottom of the seventh with a two out, two run single to tie the score. HK went on to win on a bases loaded hit batter in the tenth. Mason Blanchette had two hits for Brookfield.

Records: HK 17-6, Brookfield 11-10

HK plays at home Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. against Seymour for Round 2 of the State championship.
