The Boys team continued their winning ways as they dominated the Class SS field scoring 39 points to easily outdistance runner-up Coventry with 99 points and were able to win their 3rd consecutive state championship and the 5th title in the past 6 years.  The boys team was led by individual race winner and State Champion junior Daniel Schumann who won the race in a time of 16:33.  Crossing the line behind him were teammates  junior Andrew Meredith who placed 3rd in a time of 16:50 and junior Jonah Spector who placed 7th in a time of 17:16. All three boys earned All State honors (Dan and Andrew for the second consecutive year).  Running a strong race as the #4 man was junior Conor McCabe who placed 12th in a time of 17:36 and was followed by senior Noah Miller who continued his fantastic season as he placed 16th in a time of 17:47.  Also contributing to the team victory was senior Doug Brown who placed 28th (18:23) and junior Michael Callis 65th (19:32) to help the HK boys cross country program win their 9th State Championship overall.

The Girls team was attempting to defend their state title in 2015, but lost to a strong Immaculate team by a score of 53 to 78. Leading the way for the Cougars once again were a pair of juniors Kelsey D’Amico and Lexie Bouthillier who placed 7th and 8th overall in the race in times of 20:24 and 20:26 to earn All State honors (Kelsey for the second straight year).  They were followed by senior Lizzy Early who placed 13th in a time of 20:43, junior Julie Kelly 18th (20:49) and sophomore Emma Anziano who placed 32nd (21:41).  Also contributing to the girls runner up performance were juniors Grace Lindell 46th (22:36) and Maggie Fisher 50th (22:51).
By virtue of their top 2 finish in their class as a team, both the boys and girls squad advance to the State Open Championship which will be held Friday November 4, 2016 at Wickham Park in Manchester.
