HVFCo: Busy Day 7/9/16

Members of the Haddam Volunteer Fire Co. responded consecutively to three medical-related calls and two-fire alarms today (July 9, 2016).

At 1:45 p.m., HVFCo. was called to The Saybrook at Haddam assisted living complex on Saybrook Road for a person having respiratory distress.

At 1:50 p.m., crews headed to Bartman Road for a fire alarm, which was activated due to burnt food.

7-9-16 recumbent bikeAt 2:30 p.m., firefighters assisted an injured woman who had fallen off her tricycle near the intersection of Saybrook Road and Jail Hill Road. The woman, who was making a right turn into her driveway, hit a curb and fell onto the pavement. She was taken to Middlesex Hospital via Chester Ambulance with minor injuries.

At 4:55 p.m., firefighters responded to another fire alarm on Camp Bethel Road, again the result of burnt food.7-9-16 Meadows

At 5:15 p.m., Haddam Fire was dispatched to Haddam Meadows State Park to assist a jogger who was having chest pain. The jogger was taken to Middlesex Hospital via Haddam Ambulance for treatment.
