Rev. Edward Goetz Services and More

Ed Goetz of Higganum recently passed away.  Goetz, 68, had been an associate priest at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Enfield since 1996, and had helped the church through a transitional time in 2003, when the north central region merged three churches, said the Rev. Peter E. Bushnell, rector at Holy Trinity.  Goetz, who died March 29, had also been a fire instructor and a chaplain for a number of police and fire departments, including the Middletown Police Department and the state police. Last year, the Connecticut State Firefighters Association inducted Goetz into its Hall of Fame.  He had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  A GOFUNDME plan was set up several months ago and has collected over $13,000.  Services are Sunday April 10, 2016.  Some details can be found HERE.  An update on the past couple of weeks was published on 4/13/16 by the Hartford Courant.  It was a front page story with this headline:

“Enfield Church Mourns Priest Lost to Cancer; Wife Charged With Abuse.”  Click HERE for the full story in The Hartford Courant.

Nothing has been planned by the HVFCo, at the request of his family.

Holy Trinity in Enfield had a service in his memory on 4/10 but we continue to share memories of Fr Ed. We would love to hear your favorite Fr Ed memory if you would like to join us some Sunday.
