HVFCo even Brought Home the Groceries!

Written by Olivia Drake.

On March 13, 2016 a driver heading northbound on Saybrook Road lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a tree near Camp Bethel Road. Firefighters and EMTs evaluated the driver on scene. The driver was transported to Middlesex Hospital via Haddam Volunteer Ambulance for evaluation. Firefighters closed one lane of traffic for about 30 minutes.

The driver of the vehicle was returning from grocery shopping and a member of HVFCo. volunteered to bring the driver’s refrigerated food items to her house so they wouldn’t spoil. Even WFSB did a story (includes video clip) on our volunteers going above and beyond the call of duty!

Such a wonderful touch to bring the driver’s groceries home for her. This is a great reason to be happy to live in Haddam!
