Boy Scout Troop #44 Court of Honor: November 2014

Submitted by Mike Parker, co-leader of Boy Scout Troop #44.

On November 18, 2014, Boy Scout Troop #44 held its semi-annual Court of Honor. Thirty-four scouts received 86 various merit badges and nine scouts advanced in rank. Two of those received the highest rank in scouting, the Eagle. Mark Fox who has been an active member in Scouting since 1st grade, climbed through the ranks of scouting to obtain his life scout rank.  After that, his Eagle project helped our community by providing much needed food and supplies for the Haddam Food Bank.  Ryan Nenninger also was very active in Scouting for many years, and was elected several times to lead Troop 44 as the senior patrol leader.  Ryan’s leadership was tested during his project, which involved a renovation project at the Haddam Congregational Church. All Eagle Scout candidates must demonstrate leadership, initiative, and give leadership to others in a service project that is helpful to any religious institution, any school, or their community. After the evening ceremonies there was a celebration dinner.

For all the young men and their many achievements, we are proud of all of our scouts.
